Post 82 talking about emotions with stories today is disgust
Today I will talk about the most unpleasant emotion, or the most. Disgust. But totally necessary for survival. Disgust is the denomination of the emotion of strong dislike and disgust towards something, such as putrid organic materials, which produces the need to violently expel the contents of the stomach through the mouth. Disgust is an emotion difficult to control, since it responds to an impulse, a direct message from the senses. However, it must also be managed because rejection out of disgust can generate hostility or sadness in another person. And it is not always founded, like the story of Ranita, the little frog.
Ranita was a frog like all the others. His skin was full of little circles much like the craters on the moon, but much smaller and of a green-brown color, bulging eyes, and a long tongue that he stretched out to catch insects and feed on them. He lived very happily in a lagoon outside the city. One day, a family that was walking there saw her and found her so nice that they decided to take her to the garden of their house. Frog suddenly found himself in a tin with a little water, which was moving to the beat of who knows what and without having the slightest idea of what her destiny would be, he worried a little. When the family arrived at their house, they left it in the garden, which from then on would become her home. Her bulging eyes looked at this new place: it was not ugly, on the contrary, it was full of plants, flowers, some wooden benches, a hammock and a pool that Ranita mistook for a lagoon that seemed a bit strange. Frog was not the only inhabitant of that garden, there were snails, worms, worms, a rabbit and two dogs. There were also the little birds that made nests in the trees, and curious butterflies that went from here to there. Ranita's eyes seemed even more bulging than usual, everything amazed her, everything seemed cute to her, despite being unknown to her. SHe looked at things with the eyes of the heart, of a good, simple heart. She began to jump out of life, ready to go through every corner of the garden and make new friends. What poor Ranita did not know was that she would not be welcomed by her local companions. None of the little animals that lived there had ever seen a frog, therefore they did not really know what type of animal it was and even less what Frog was like inside beyond its physical appearance.
They didn't care much about what we say either. Each and everyone had something to say about our little friend. Let's agree that the frog was not very pretty, but what did that really matter? "It's full of warts. Disgusting!" Said the snail, who was having a hard time finishing a sentence. - He wants to imitate me all the time jumping and jumping, but he will not be able to jump as much as I do. Did you see its paws? They look like ice cream sticks next to mine- commented the rabbit. -And the color of your skin? I say, isn't it half rotten? -. Asked a little butterfly that was flying there. Not only did no animal in the garden welcome him, but instead of worrying about meeting Ranita and seeing if they could be friends, they took care to criticize not only his appearance, but everything he did. - She's a mockery! - a little worm complained- Didn't you notice how she sticks her tongue out at us? - You're right! He makes fun of us all, he just sticks out that long and finite tongue that he has, what do you think? -. Added the rabbit. "I think the same," said the snail, whose sentences were never very long, because if it didn't take too long to say them. - And the eyes? They look like two golf balls !! For me that has them so far out to be able to look at us well and make fun of us better. Someday they fall out there, who knows. A bug commented. "Well, if she mocks us, we'll pretend she doesn't exist," said a little butterfly.
The truth is that Ranita stuck out his tongue all the time to feed on insects, as all frogs do and not to make fun of anyone. Nor did he have bulging eyes to look at others, but because all frogs and toads have them. What happens is that nobody took the trouble to ask her, to know her well and thus be able to know what the little frog really was like. After a while, Ranita began to feel very lonely. He tried to talk to his neighbors, but no one paid any attention to him. The little frog wanted to go back to her pond, but no matter how much she jumped as high as possible, she knew she couldn't get there, or even leave the garden. Realizing that he was not welcome, Ranita went into a hole in the grass and tried to get out of there as little as possible so as not to disturb anyone. Summer arrived and with it an invasion of mosquitoes never seen before in the garden of the house. All the animals scratched without stopping, they tried to hide under a stone (those who entered), the dogs in their houses, the rabbit in a box where it slept, but even so the mosquitoes advanced without stopping. "This is going to kill us!" Said the snail inside its shell. - Not even jumping can I avoid them! - The rabbit complained. - Luckily I can hide under the stones - the worm said relieved - but someday I will have to go out to look for food. Everyone in the garden was very nervous and upset. The only one who was happy was Ranita, she had never had so much food so close at hand and she was also starving for all the time she had been inside the hole. Prepared to get a belly, the frog jumped into the garden and began to walk around chasing every mosquito that crossed his path. With his long tongue, which had brought him so much trouble, he grabbed each and every one of the insects that had invaded the garden. After a while, the other animals began to see the result of Frog's big feast, not only because the frog already had a belly that looked like a balloon, but because there were hardly any mosquitoes left circling.
- He saved us, the fat woman saved us! said the snail, who really wanted to scream with happiness but it didn't come out too much. - I don't understand- said the little worm-, first it makes fun of us and then it doesn't get rid of the annoying insects, who understands it? - What do you want me to tell you? Jump for joy! Finally we got rid of those critters! - added the rabbit. In that Koko intervened, one of the house dogs, who until that moment had not gotten too involved in the matter. - I would say that you have to go thank him, don't you think friends? - The fat woman full of warts, with a half rotten color and who made fun of us all the time? Not crazy that he was! - The worm screamed. - It is what corresponds and it is what each and every one of you will do or else I will personally take care that that greenish and ugly animal does not eat more mosquitoes. Koko was angry at the attitude of her friends. "Are we going guys?" Asked the snail trembling, who had been very scared just thinking that the annoying mosquitoes would return. And there they all went, not very convinced by the way. In a long line, the smallest first and the oldest later, with Koko included, went to thank Ranita. The snail was actually going to start talking, but it took so long that the rabbit spoke.
- Look, dona, the truth is that we want to thank you. Ranita did not understand why they thanked him, but just seeing that all his neighbors had come to talk to him, he made him smile bigger than his mouth itself. "Sorry, I don't understand," Ranita said humbly. Thank me, why? - You took away those annoying insects, what we do not understand is why since you arrived you did nothing more than make fun of us and then help us with the mosquitoes. - Make fun of me? Whose? Why would I have done it? Ranita understood even less than her neighbors. The truth is that in that garden everything was a misunderstanding. That happens when people don't communicate and then they don't know each other. - Come on, confess, sticking out that tongue, sticking out your tongue all day, do you think we didn't see it? Not only did he stick out his tongue at us all the time, but in order to make fun of it better, he put out those eyes that he has on the outside. - I'm sorry to disappoint your neighbors, but I didn't make fun of anyone. My name is Ranita, my eyes are bulging from birth and I stick my tongue out to hunt insects. If any of you had come to talk to me or let me get closer, we would have met and you would have known well what a frog is like. What do you think? Do you want to comment on it? And do you want to comment on your disgust? How do you deal with them? I will comment on it in the next post and I am delighted to read you here or through my email mariarviescoach@gmail.com
