The word emotion derives from the Latin emotio, which means "movement", "impulse" more definitions and difference with feeling Emotions are reactions that we all experience: joy, sadness, fear, anger ... ... We react with anger or anger. Loss of a loved one. We react sadly and empathize with the people who support us. An emotion is a complex reaction of the brain to an external stimulus (something I see or hear) or internal (thought, memory, internal image). Emotion comes from the Latin emovere which means to move to or from. Contrary to popular belief, emotions are transitory, not permanent, that take us out of our habitual state and push us into action. Emotions are energy that moves through our bodies and only stagnates if we repress them. Emotions therefore drive us to action, are more intense and last less time than feelings. Any questions?
