Today I am going to change the subject apparently. I stop talking about emotional intelligence, at least conventionally. Taking into account what is falling with viruses, I want to tell you a story, which comes as a ring to the finger…. Once a king from a country not too far away gathered the sages of his court and said: - "I have ordered a beautiful diamond ring to be made, with one of the best goldsmiths in the area. I want to keep, hidden inside the ring, some words that can help me in difficult times. A message that I can go to in moments of total despair. I would like that message to help my heirs and my heirs' children in the future. It has to be small so that it fits under the diamond in my ring. " All those who heard the king's wishes were great sages, scholars who could have written great treatises ... but think of a message that contained two or three words and that fit under a diamond in a ring? Very difficult. They also thought, and searched their philosophy books for many hours, finding nothing to suit the wishes of the powerful king. The king had very close to him, a very dear servant. This man, who had also been his father's servant, and had taken care of him when his mother had died, was treated like family and enjoyed the respect of all. For these reasons, the king also consulted him. And this one said to him: - "I am not a wise man, nor a scholar, nor an academic, but I know the message" - "How do you know the king asked"? - “During my long life in the Palace, I have met all kinds of people, and on one occasion I met a teacher. He was a guest of your father, and I was at his service. When he left us, I accompanied him to the door to see him off and as a gesture of thanks he gave me this message.

- "How do you know the king asked"? - “During my long life in the Palace, I have met all kinds of people, and on one occasion I met a teacher. He was a guest of your father, and I was at his service. When he left us, I accompanied him to the door to see him off and as a gesture of thanks he gave me this message. At that time the old man wrote the aforementioned message on a small piece of paper. He folded it and handed it to the king. - "But don't read it," he said. "Keep it stored in the ring. Open it only when you can't find a way out of a situation. ” That moment was not long in coming, the country was invaded and his kingdom was threatened. He was running away on horseback to save his life, while his enemies were chasing him. I was alone and the pursuers were numerous. In a moment, he came to a place where the road ended, and in front of him was a precipice and a deep valley. Falling for him would be fatal. He could not go back, because the enemy blocked his path. He could hear the trotting of the horses, the voices, the proximity of the enemy. It was then that he remembered about the ring. He took out the paper, opened it and there he found a small message tremendously valuable for the moment ... It just said "THIS WILL ALSO HAPPEN." At that moment he was aware that a great silence was looming over him. The enemies that were chasing him must have been lost in the forest, or they must have gone wrong. But the truth is that an immense silence surrounded him. The trotting of the horses was no longer felt. The king was deeply grateful to the servant and the unknown master. Those words had been miraculous. He folded the paper, put it back in the ring, gathered his army again, and reconquered his reign. On victory day, there was a great celebration in the city with music and dancing… and the king was very proud of himself.

At that time, again the old man was at his side and said: - "Dear King, the time has come for you to read the message of the ring again" - "What do you mean?" Asked the king. "Now I am living a situation of euphoria and joy, people celebrate my return, we have defeated the enemy." - "Listen," said the old man. “This message is not only for desperate situations, it is also for pleasant situations. It is not just for when you feel defeated, it is also for when you feel victorious. It is not only for when you are the last, but also for when you are the first ”. The king opened the ring and read the message ... "THIS WILL ALSO PASS" And, again, he felt the same peace, the same silence, in the midst of the crowd that celebrated and danced. But the pride, the ego was gone. The king could finish to understand the message. The bad was as transitory as the good. Then the old man said to him: - “Remember that everything happens. No event or emotion is permanent. Like day and night; there are moments of joy and moments of sadness. Accept them as part of the duality of nature because they are the very nature of things. ” In the next post I will comment on it and I hope your comments here or by my email mariarivescoach@gmail.com
