POST 32 FOLLOWING EMOTIONAL WELFARE
As I said in the previous post to have a good emotional well-being it is important to be clear about your values, your mission in life, have good self-esteem, sense of humor, meaningful activities, and I add, be clear that there is always something to improve, and even if we are not perfect, is doesn’t mean we are less.
There are 2 exercises that I like and that help to be clear about who you are and your good things. One is to make a list of your good things in different areas and ask 5, or more, friends to do it to you. And better if you specify in what areas you want to see that you are good (professional, family, personal, health, friends,…. Whatever you want)
If you want you can put 3 things that you don’t like and then put them in positive and how to improve these areas. This part is good to accept that perfection does not exist but that we can improve. And we have more good things than bad things, but we don’t see them, or we don’t value them.
The other exercise is to draw a tree with roots, a good trunk, branches, leaves and fruits. In the roots we write our values, which sustain us, and give us strength to grow and be who we are. On the log we write our strengths. It is what sustains us and where the sap goes to feed the leaves and fruits.
In the leaves we put our good things, which come from our strengths and our environment and in the fruits we put our achievements and successes
In my tree I have placed, in my roots, joy, humor, freedom, respect, love, honesty, enjoy life, happiness, respect, growth as a person
In my trunk I have put my sense of humor, flexibility, intelligent, honest, understanding, helpful.
In the leaves I have put that I learn, that I listen, capacity for change, time for my people, I help others …
In the fruits I have put the titles that I have obtained, the personal relationships that I have, my work, the languages that I have learned, trips …
I would love to see your tree. If you have any questions, tell me. Nice to hear you, and to read you! Here or by my email mariarivescoach@gmail.com thanks for reading!
