13 POST EMOTIONAL WELFARE FOR THE NEW YEAR
Although we already have several days of the new year and have not done your planning (I will talk later on why it is good to plan) on how to increase your emotional wellbeing for this 2019 is never too late to start, and today begins your new year … also if You are one of those who like to start with the new years and you do not get to this one, you can do it now to start it with the new Chinese year or your birthday.
To plan the year to achieve optimal emotional well-being, you must first know that it is for you to have good emotional well-being. What brings me emotional well-being is to be balanced in all aspects of my life, especially at the psychological and social levels. Have a purpose in life (in my case help improve the lives of others with coaching among other ways), exercise, take care of myself in all aspects, learn, love, have people who I love and who love me …
Once you know what is causing your emotional well-being, you do an “X-ray” of how you are doing, with the wheel of life that we have already talked about. It is important to be honest with yourself. See what really matters to you and see where you are at. And you are ready to choose the 12 activities that produce more well-being, and that you want to improve (if there are less, then less, but at most 12), and in a calendar, agenda or large sheet you write them. And every month you focus on one, which in that month you will focus and focus more. You will allow yourself to develop that area. That does not mean you neglect the rest. If not, you will spend that month improving that part and creating habits to increase what you want to increase. When you plan you have to be realistic. You have to see how much time you have to devote to that, and how much you want. If you can only, or want, devote 2 hours a week to improve what you want is fine. And see that if you are only going to improve 4 areas this year, focus on those 4 and next year more. If we get overwhelmed by wanting to do more or because we do not reach everything, our emotional well-being diminishes …
